Oscar Pistorius Could Face Up to 25 Years in Prison as Murder Trial Concludes

Oscar Pistorius, also known as the “Blade Runner“, is currently awaiting sentencing for murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. The trial surrounding Oscar Pistorius and his murder of his long time girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp has finally concluded after a long period of four months. The jury is expected to announce the news about the sentencing in a matter of just a few weeks. Reeva Steenkamp, who is a model, was shot four times and found dead inside his home in South Africa on Valentine’s Day last year.

With the exception of this murder trial incident, Oscar Pistorius is a Paralympic superstar who is best known for competing against able bodied track and field athletes in the 2012 Olympics.

Oscar Pistorius Charged with Murder

Oscar Pistorius, also known as the “Blade Runner“, has been taken into custody for possibly murdering his girfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Reeva Steenkamp, who is a model, was shot four times and found dead inside his home in South Africa.

South Africans were shocked by the news of the killing. Oscar Pistorious is a Paralympic superstar who became famous for competing against able bodied track and field athletes in the 2012 Olympics.

Usain Bolt: The World’s Fastest Man

We told you earlier that Usain Bolt is one of the Jamaican sprinters to watch out for in 2012. Usain Bolt dominated in the men’s 100m to earn title of “world’s fastest man” in the finals at the 2012 Olympics in London. Bolt’s Jamaican training partner Yohan Blake got the silver medal and Justin Gatlin won the bronze for the USA. Usain Bolt set an Olympic record in the race with a time of 9.63

Usain Bolt defended his Olympic title and has won the gold in the men’s 100m in back to back Summer Olympics. In the 2008 Olympics, Bolt won Olympic gold medals in both the 100m and 200m sprints. He is looking repeat this accomplishment once again in the 2012 Olympics as he prepares for the 200m.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce: The World’s Fastest Woman

We told you earlier that Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is one of the Jamaican sprinters to watch out for in 2012. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce edged out American sprinter Carmelita Jeter in the 100m to earn title of “world’s fastest woman” in the finals at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce defended her Olympic title and has won the gold in the women’s 100m in 2 straight Summer Olympics. In the 2008 Olympics, she became the first Jamaican woman in history to win an Olympic gold medal in the 100m sprint.

Can Anyone Break Flo Jo’s World Record in 100 meters?

Florence Griffith-Joyner known as Flo Jo was one of the best female Olympic athletes ever. Her world records in the 100m and 200m dashes still stand today. She ran a whopping 10.49 in the 100 meters which is still the current world record giving her the title of “the world’s fastest woman of all time”. Carmelita Jeter is probably the fastest woman alive right now and will be going for her first Olympic gold medal in the 100m later today in the women’s 100m final. As of right now though, Flo Jo remains the fastest woman ever.

This track and field star athlete specializes in the men’s 100m, 200m, and 400m sprints.

Allyson Felix is an American sprinter to watch out for in 2012. Allyson Felix was born on November 18, 1985. She is currently listed at 5′ 6″ and 125 lbs. This track and field star athlete specializes in the women’s 200m dash.

Allyson Felix is definitely one of the 2012 Olympic athletes to watch. Felix won a silver medals in both the 2004 Olympics and the 2008 Olympics in the women’s 200m. She won a gold medal in the 4 x 400m relay in the 2008 Olympics and is one of the top female Olympic athletes. Felix became the youngest ever gold medalist sprinter in the 200 meters at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005.
