Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs wins the gold medal in the men’s 100m! Fred Kerley wins the silver medal for the USA team.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn wins gold for Puerto Rico in the 110m hurdles. USA takes the silver medal.

Florence Griffith Joyner’s 33-year-old Olympic record in the women’s 100 meters was broken by Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah. Flo Jo still holds the world record in the 100 meters however.

Noah Lyles is a professional track and field athlete representing the USA in the sprints. He is the current world champion in the 200 meters. He has personal bests of 9.86 seconds for the 100 meters and 19.50 seconds for the 200 meters .

If you love the sprints, Noah Lyles is definitely one of the sprinters to watch in the 2012 olympics.

Retired track and field superstar Usain Bolt is scheduled to make an appearance in South Africa at the Ruimsig Stadium in Johannesburg next week on Monday, January 29th. His appearance will be an inspiration to the more than 500, 000 youth and junior athletes between the ages of 14-19 years at high school level in South Africa.
